I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with extensive training in Emotional Focused therapy and trauma informed modalities of therapeutic interventions. I have completed the training curriculum for a CACIII addiction certificate, working with individuals, couples and families struggling with a variety of addiction issues.
I know that every person, situation and relationship is unique as is the history and environment surrounding them. I approach therapy with the understanding that individuals do not live in bubbles; that early family dynamics impact future relationships. That early attachments, whether secure or insecure, affect present moments and how people interact on a daily basis. In psychotherapy, this systemic approach to therapy recognizes the complexity of situations not only on the individual level but also as people in relationships who have to deal with group interactions, expectations, responsibilities.
I base my approach on a pluralistic model; a collaborative and integrative perspective that recognizes that every situation is different and that we will have to work together to see a change. You are unique! Because of this, I know that you are going to benefit from a distinctive combination of therapy methods and I will pull from my vast experience to present you the best options. Together we will map out your goals for yourself and your relationships and will create the best path forward to meet those goals.
Change is possible! Contact me today to start the process to a stronger, happier you. ~ Carolyn Riviere-Placzek, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
