Carolyn Riviere-Placzek is a Registered Play Therapist ™ (RPT) and is proud to provide play therapy services. Play therapy is a structured, theoretically based approach to therapy that helps children to communicate with others, express feelings, modify behavior, develop problem-solving skills, and learn a variety of ways of relating to others. Play therapy can be used to address issues of depression, anger, anxiety, grief and loss, divorce and family dissolution, crisis or trauma, physical and sexual abuse, ADHD, autism, and behavioral issues.
The practice of play therapy requires extensive specialized education, training, and experience. A play therapist is a licensed mental health professional who has earned a Master’s or Doctorate degree in a mental health field, has considerable clinical experience and supervision, and has completed the advanced, specialized training to earn the designation of Registered Play Therapist ™ (RPT). Carolyn Riviere-Placzek is proud to include this specialty in her practice. Learn more about our Play Therapy services or contact us today to get started.
